Monsoon Forest

Monsoon Forest in the Top End today is made up of small pockets of plant species that once dominated the landscape in cooler wetter times.  Today the forest patches are restricted to areas such as springs and sheltered areas where moisture is available after the rains have finished allowing these moisture dependent species to survive the long dry periods.
